Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 500g)
  • 4 large flour tortillas, burrito-size
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded romaine lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 tbsp butter for toasting

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Sharp knife and cutting board

Method
 

  1. Season sliced chicken strips with garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook chicken in olive oil over medium-high heat for 5 to 6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Set aside.
  3. Saute minced garlic in the same pan over low heat for 30 seconds. Remove from heat.
  4. Mix cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth, then stir in the cooked garlic to form the garlic cream sauce.
  5. Spread garlic cream sauce over each tortilla. Layer with chicken, mozzarella, cheddar, lettuce, and tomato.
  6. Roll each tortilla tightly, folding in the sides first, then rolling from the bottom up.
  7. Toast wraps in butter over medium heat, seam-side down, for 2 minutes per side until golden and cheese is melted.
  8. Slice in half and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth, lump-free sauce.
  • Do not overfill the tortillas - a tight roll toasts better and holds together when sliced.
  • Leftover grilled chicken works perfectly here - just warm it in the pan before assembling.
