Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough classic or thin crust
  • 24 slices pepperoni thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup marinara sauce plus more for dipping
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for greasing
  • 1 tsp dried oregano optional garnish

Equipment

  • Muffin Tin
  • Pizza Cutter
  • Baking Sheet (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a standard muffin tin with olive oil or cooking spray.
  2. Prepare dough: Unroll the pizza dough on a flat surface and gently stretch into a rectangle. Cut lengthwise into 6 even strips (about 2 inches wide).
  3. Add fillings: Spread a very thin layer of marinara sauce on each strip. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  4. Layer pepperoni: Place pepperoni slices along the top edge of the dough strip, overlapping them, with the top half of the pepperoni hanging off the dough.
  5. Fold and roll: Fold the bottom half of the dough up over the pepperoni. Roll the dough tightly from one end to create a rose shape. Pinch the end to seal.
  6. Bake: Place each rose into a muffin cup. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the dough is golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use thin pepperoni for easier rolling.
  • Don't overfill with sauce to avoid sogginess.
  • Serve warm with extra marinara for dipping.
